Who we are

This policy covers The Trustee for Qurtubah Trust & Qurtubah Holdings Pty Ltd (ABN 58 410 569 910), trading as CIEA Centre for Islamic Economics Australia ("CIEA", "we", "us").

CIEA isn't automatically covered by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), but we choose to follow the Australian Privacy Principles anyway.

The short version

• We only collect personal information that you type into our forms.
• We don't take payments on this website, and there are no accounts to create.
• We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone other than the two services named below.

Where this website runs

This website runs on a private server that we manage.

We keep a daily count of page visits and Oath downloads, by country. It holds no IP addresses, no cookies and nothing that identifies you.

Mailing lists

When you sign up for our newsletter, CIEA Academy, the Medina Collective or the Ihsan Framework, your details go to Kit (formerly ConvertKit), the service that runs our mailing list. Kit holds your email address, your first name, which list you joined and the consent wording you agreed to, plus any optional details the form asks for, such as your last name, role, organisation or topics of interest.

Every sign-up form has a consent box you must tick. There's no confirmation email: once you've signed up, you're on the list.

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time. You can also email [email protected] and we'll take you off within five business days.

Enquiries

When you use our contact form or a Siddiq Standard enquiry form, your name, email address and message are sent to CIEA by email through Resend, an email delivery service. We reply from our own inbox.

We may also add your name and email address to Kit, with a note that you contacted us and the topic you chose. This doesn't sign you up for anything. No marketing consent is recorded, and we don't send our mailing list emails to people who have only made an enquiry.

The Siddiq Standard self-check

The self-check runs entirely in your browser. Your answers and results are never sent to CIEA or stored by us. Your browser keeps your progress while the tab is open, so you can pick up where you left off, and it's cleared when you close the tab. If you send an enquiry from the results page, only the details and message you type into that form are sent.

Storage overseas

Kit and Resend are based in the United States, so the information you give them is stored overseas.

Seeing or correcting your information

You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please email us first at [email protected] and we'll do our best to put it right.

If you're still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
